Instructions for Run-a-thon Participants (READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS)
Choose 1 non-profit from the list below to raise funds for the entire duration of the 2020 season. You only can choose 1 and cannot change after you have started circulating the Run-a-Thon Sponsor Form. 100% of your sponsors donations go directly to the non-profits. The Wasatch Trail Run Series is not handling any of the donation monies. All donations will be made at the end of the Run-a-Thon directly to the non-profits themselves. Also note, the design of this sign-up form and database avoids using expensive 3rd party fundraising platforms that take a percentage of every donation.
Please choose only one of the following non-profits to raise funds for. You will share the sign up form with your prospective sponsors (friends, family, work colleagues). Do not fill out the sponsor form yourself. Read it first so it makes sense and then circulate to your friends, family, work colleagues.

Prepare a short brief message to the people that you are going to send the Run-a-Thon Sponsor Form to. It is wise to let them know how many races you think you are going to run in. If you don’t let them know this, they might assume that you are running all 12 races and will pledge a less amount per race than if they knew you were only going to race 5 races. Example: Let’s say your friend Mark can afford sponsoring $60 for all your efforts. If he incorrectly assumes that you are running all 12 races, he’ll sponsor you $5 per race ($5 x 12 races = $60). If you end up running only 5 races that means he ends up only sponsoring you a total of $25. If Mark would’ve have known that you were only going to run 5 races he would have instead sponsored you $12 each race ($12 x 5 =$60).
Here’s an example message: “Hi Everyone, I am participating in the Wasatch Trail Run Series Run-a-thon which has a goal of raising a minimum of $40,000 for local non-profits. I am raising funds for (name of your chosen non-profit). I plan on running 8 races. Would you please support me in my effort by sponsoring me. Please click on and complete this (place the Sign Up Form Link to your chosen non-profit here) to sponsor me. Thank you so much!!!”
Once every week you will receive an email update with the names of the people that have signed up to sponsor you and for the amount they have pledged.
At the end of the 2020 Wasatch Trail Run Season your sponsors will receive an email with a summary of how many races you ran and instructions on how to complete their sponsorship payment directly to the non-profit.
IMPORTANT RECAP: Once you choose a non-profit you can’t switch. You can’t circulate “non-profit A sign up form” to some people and “non-profit B sign up form” to another group of people
